Favorite links for finding camps…

Friends ask me how to find great summer activities for their children and what types of programs to look for… I’m in camps; they come to me! In March, I’ll share some more in-depth information, like how to know when it’s time for sleep-away camp and how to pick a really cool program that’s a great fit for your child. But before I dash out this drizzly Friday afternoon – here are a few great resources that I use often.

(Full disclosure – I’m not paid to promote certain companies or sites. These are resources I know, use and favor, as a camp developer and as a parent!…)

mysummercamps.com – Yes, we do list our camps with this group, but only because they are one of the best summer camp resources out there! You can use this site to find programs for children and teens of all ages, in all locations, and of all different interests and preferences.

signupforcamp.com – This site lets you coordinate your camp plans with other families. Scheduling summer activities, especially with friends, is like playing a big game of tetris! It can take master skills to get all the pieces to fall into the right places. This site can help.

Many ‘things-to-do’ websites have camp directory listings that come out in Spring. For resources around Manhattan and Brooklyn, I like:

achildgrowsinbrooklyn.com – Karen is a mother of 2 and just a great, fun person who compiles useful information for the younger set in Brooklyn.

mommypoppins.com – Likewise, Anna puts together a great list of resources for Manhattan-based families.
