Dora – a fourth-grader and voracious reader, among many other things – compiled a quick list of top titles at my request. My daughters and I have read many books Dora has recommended; she does not mislead! A recent favorite (that I noticed did not make this particular list) was The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. I set aside my fresh Amazon order to finish the book; even John Irving could not sway me to put it down. Included on this list, Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper, was another excellent read that I would recommend to everyone, mothers and daughters alike. Bon apetit!
